Works And Housing Minister Inspects Water Projects

The Minister of Water Resources, Works and Housing, Alhaji Collins Dauda has assured the people of the Brong Ahafo that the water deficit in the region would be totally covered by the end of the year 2014.


According to him, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) under the leadership of President John Dramani Mahama was committed to supplying clean and potable water to all parts of the country.

Hon Collins Dauda gave the assurance when he led a team in the water sector to inspect small water pump systems and bole holes at Kwapong in the Asunafo South District of the Brong Ahafo as part of his 3-day working visit to the region.

The Minister who expressed worried about the pump system said an Engineer would be contracted immediately to fix a new treatment plant and installed other equipment to provide safe water for the people.

For his part, the Brong Ahafo Minister, who is the Member of Parliament for the area, Hon. Eric Opoku called on the chiefs and people to rally round the NDC government to reverse the dwindling economic trend.

According to him, the nation suffered a huge loss in 2013 as a result of rampant fire outbreak in the major markets in the country and entreated the people to exercise patience as government work hard to salvage the situation. According to him, democracy was all about infrastructural development and unity and urged them to bury their differences and forge ahead to contribute their quota.

Hon. Eric Opoku stated that plans were far advance to commence work on some roads in the region such as Nobekaw-Sankore, Goaso-Acherensua and Mim-Amaesua to ease transportation problems in the region.

Earlier, the team inspected progress of work and construction of small town water systems in Babatokuma and Busuanya in the Kintampo South and Nkoranza North Districts of the Brong Ahafo region.

Other dignitaries that accompanied the Works and Housing Minister included; Chief Executive Officer of Community Water and Sanitation Agency(CWSA), Mr Clement Bugasi, the Brong Ahafo Chief Engineer of CWSA, Mr Divine Dugbartey and the Asunafo South District Chief Executive, Hon Abrahams Atta Bosompem.
