David Lynch has been appointed as the new Chief of Police for St Helena and will arrive on-Island on Sunday, 9 July 2017.
David will take the reins from Wendy Tinkler, who is currently undertaking the Acting Chief of Police role while Steve Riley is on overseas leave.
Having spent 30 years as a Superintendent for Lincolnshire Police, David joins the St Helena Police Service with a wealth of experience.
I have been a Senior Manager in most areas of policing from counter corruption to partnerships, uniformed policing to crime management and the management of contracted services. I have commanded and managed large scale operations and diverse teams and worked with key players in the worlds of policing, partnerships and the private sector. I am really looking forward to starting my new role as the Chief of Police for St Helena.
Among his many achievements, David has received two Chief Constable Commendations for exceptional work and received notes of good work for strong leadership.
The new Chief of Police will take over his duties on St Helena and begin his three year contract on Wednesday, 12 July.
