The St Helena Fisheries Corporation (SHFC) has reported that the temperature controls on their refrigerated container have been tampered with. The container was full of frozen fish worth a considerable amount of money.
This incident occurred between the afternoon of Sunday, 12 November, and the morning of Monday, 13 November 2017.
As a result of this incident, the Environmental Health Section will now need to conduct tests on the fish before it can be sold. At this stage it is unknown if the fish will be suitable to be sold.
The public is advised that anyone found trespassing on the SHFC's property, or tampering with their equipment may face prosecution.
If you have any information regarding the tampering of the SHFC's container, please contact Police Headquarters on tel: 22626.
