LUANDA, The secretaries-general of South Africa's African National Congress (ANC), Mozambican ruling party Frelimo and Namibia's SWAPO have arrived in Luanda to attend a meeting of political parties which emerged from the liberation movements of southern Africa which secured their respective country's independence.
The meeting, which will take place here Thursday , was preceded by a meeting of these parties' social organizations, including their women's and youth wings, said the Secretary for International Affairs of Angola's ruling MPLA party, JuliAPound o Mateus Paulo here Wednesday.
He said the secretaries-general of the former liberation movements would analyse various current political issues and those that concern the political organizations in the southern Africa sub-region. Already in Luanda for the meeting are delegations of the Chama Chama Mapinduzi (CCM) of Tanzania, and ZANU-PF from Zimbabwe.
Angola is hosting the meeting of the former liberation movements for the second time. Without exception, these liberation movements have all transformed into formal political parties and all are still the ruling parties in the different countries.
